Why does the edge matter so much?
Because it's where the film either ends in the open or disappears. A termination on the top surface is a seam sitting where your hands and cloths go. Wrapping over and finishing underneath means there's no edge to lift, catch, or work a spill under. It's the difference between a film that lasts and one that starts peeling at a corner in year three.
Can you tell it's there?
That's the beauty of a wet-applied film. There's no visible seam, no glue line, no colour cast, no orange-peel texture. In the matching finish it reads as the stone. Most people who visit a filmed kitchen don't know until they're told.
How does it bond to the stone?
It's applied wet. The film is floated onto the stone on a water and chemical-free soap solution, then squeegeed out from the centre. As the water leaves, the adhesive activates and grips the surface — nothing chemical soaks into the stone itself. It reaches a full bond at 24 hours, and even then it lifts cleanly with no residue if it ever needs to come off.
Can I use the kitchen straight away?
Yes. The film is fully usable the moment we leave — there's nothing to avoid, no spills or normal use to worry about. The adhesive simply keeps grabbing over the first 24 hours until it reaches its full bond.
How long does an installation take?
A small kitchen can be done in a day. Jobs with many surfaces, or large ones — a big island, long runs of benchtop, a full-height splashback — run into multiple days. That's still longer than film cut on top, and the extra time is the edge: wrapping takes two people and a slow pass over every profile. The kitchen is usable as soon as we leave.
How do I clean it?
A damp cloth. The ceramic top coat is hydrophobic, so water beads and lifts, and dirt, grime and mould have nothing to hold onto. No sealing, no polishing, no specialist products. This is the last time your benchtop needs a maintenance routine.
What happens if it gets scratched?
Minor scratches self-heal with heat. Pour boiling water over the mark, or run a hairdryer across it, and it closes. Deep cuts — from a knife used directly on the surface — are not covered, and won't heal.
What does the ten-year warranty cover?
Ten years on residential installations, against manufacturing defects: yellowing, cracking and delamination. It doesn't cover damage from negligence, and it's not a warranty against cutting directly on your benchtop.
Are there edges you can't wrap?
A few profiles won't take a wrap cleanly — heavily undercut and some shark-nose edges are the usual culprits. We identify those at quoting rather than on installation day, and we'll say so plainly. A wrap that won't seat is worse than no wrap.
Can it be removed?
Yes, cleanly, without residue or damage to the stone.
